Many of the the videos we use in class will require a FREE Edpuzzle account.

Why do we use Edpuzzle?

  • YouTube only allows WATCHING. Edpuzzle allows INTERACTING.
    • There are times the video will pause to ask you a question to cause you to think about the information, check your understanding, or to give additional information.
    • The instructor will be able to see how you are doing and to talk more about any confusing parts.
  • Edpuzzle remembers where you left off, so that you can continue later (and not need to answer the same questions again).
    • If you leave and come back later, Edpuzzle will start you back a little bit from where you left off to give you a bit of review.
  • You may join our class on your phone or computer or both, and you may start a video on one, and move to the other in the middle.

    • You should now see a list of videos for your class.

How to continue watching videos in a class that you already joined

  • Go to edpuzzle.com
  • Click “Log in”
  • Click “I’m a student”
  • Log in (with either your Username and Password, or Google, or Microsoft)
  • You may stop watching in the middle and come back. It should remember where you left off.
  • Be sure to watch until the very end of the video, for it to automatically submit as watched.

Which videos should I watch?

  • Use your syllabus (provided by the instructor) to know which videos to watch.
  • This class is self paced, and each student is different and starting at a different time, therefore all of the videos for the whole course are available.
    • Don’t watch them all at once to get them done!
    • When watching the videos, it is good to watch them in the order on your syllabus, which is likely similar to the “Start Date”. Watch them in order from the earlier Start Date (at the bottom of the list) to the later Start Date (at the top of the list).
    • Again, follow your class syllabus. You DON’T want to just sit and watch all of the videos quickly. This will NOT be very helpful. It is most helpful to watch them slowly over time to give opportunities to develop habits in one area of the language before introducing another.
